Menu Bar Resident

Qlypx does not take up space in your Dock. Look at the top-right menu bar for the Qlypx clipboard icon:

Left-click: Opens clipboard history.
Right-click: Opens Settings, Snippet Manager, and Quit.

One-Time Accessibility Setup

To paste into other apps automatically, macOS requires Accessibility permission:

Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
Enable the toggle next to Qlypx.

Note: Qlypx never records keystrokes. Used strictly for pasting.

Instant Paste Shortcuts

Press ⌘ + ⇧ + V anywhere to open the Quick Launcher. Type letters to search, navigate with arrow keys, and press Return to paste immediately.

Prefer a compact popover? Use ⌘ + ⌃ + V for the menu-based history.

On-Device Screenshot OCR

Whenever you copy or screenshot an image, Qlypx extracts text automatically using native Apple Vision on your Apple Silicon chip.

Use ⌘ + ⌥ + B to paste the extracted text directly into your document.

Export History to CSV & Images

Where to export: Right-click the menu bar icon → Export Clips… or go to Preferences → General.

Data Format: Exports a standard ZIP archive containing clips.csv (timestamps, application name, text content, OCR text) and an images/ folder of original graphics.
Local Sync: Point your Sync Directory to personal iCloud Drive or Dropbox for private multi-Mac sync.

Custom Shortcuts & Navigation

Changing Hotkeys: Open Preferences → Shortcuts and click any hotkey field to record your own combinations.

1–9: Instantly paste the top 9 items without arrow navigation.
⌥ + Return: Invert default paste mode between image and OCR text.
⌘ + ⌫: Remove the selected item from history immediately.
Esc: Dismiss the launcher without pasting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Does Qlypx store or upload my clipboard data to the cloud?

No, never. All clipboard items, OCR recognized text, and snippets are stored 100% locally on your Mac (`~/Library/Application Support/Qlypx/`). Qlypx operates without any remote database or accounts.

Q. How does Screenshot OCR work? Is my image uploaded?

OCR is powered entirely by Apple’s native Vision framework on your local device. No network requests are made, and your images never leave your machine.

Q. Can I attach images or PDF files to Snippets?

Yes. You can drag and drop files (PDFs, images, documents) into snippets. They will be stored in your local Qlypx directory and pasted alongside your snippet text.

Q. How can I export or backup my clipboard history as CSV and images?

Right-click the Qlypx menu bar icon and select Export Clips… (or navigate to Preferences → General → Export Data). You can filter by date or image types and export a single ZIP archive containing a structured clips.csv table and an images/ folder.

Q. How do I change the default global hotkeys?

Open Preferences → Shortcuts. Click on any shortcut recorder badge (e.g. for the Quick Picker or Instant OCR Paste) and simply press your desired key combination. You can also customize in-launcher actions like number-key pasting (1–9).

Q. Does Qlypx support Right-to-Left (RTL) languages?

Yes. Qlypx natively supports 22 languages including full RTL interface mirroring for Arabic and Hebrew.
