Overview

Qlypx is a menu bar clipboard manager for macOS, published by CHROMATRIBE.

Clipboard history, snippets, and attachments stay on your Mac. Qlypx does not upload clipboard content to CHROMATRIBE or any third party, does not show ads, and does not track you across apps or websites.

This policy explains what stays on your device, what may leave your device only if you opt in, and how that maps to Apple’s App Privacy labels.

Data Stored on Your Device

Qlypx stores the following locally (typically under your Application Support folder for Qlypx):

Clipboard history (text, images, files, and related metadata such as timestamps and source app when available)
Snippets and snippet attachments
App preferences, hotkeys, and excluded-app lists
Optional copies of clip data in a sync folder you choose (for example iCloud Drive or Dropbox). This is a local/file-based mirror under your control—not a CHROMATRIBE cloud service
OCR text extracted from images (processed on device with Apple Vision)

Qlypx may also keep short-lived temporary files while exporting, importing, or processing clips.

You remain in control of this data. It is not sent to CHROMATRIBE unless you enable optional diagnostics (see below), and even then clipboard and snippet contents are excluded.

What We Do Not Collect

By default and for core features:

Clipboard text, images, files, and snippet contents are never uploaded to CHROMATRIBE or third parties
Qlypx does not use advertising identifiers, analytics SDKs for marketing, or cross-app / cross-site tracking
Qlypx does not sell personal data
Qlypx does not require an account

Optional Diagnostic Reports

In Settings, you can enable “Send crash reports and error logs” (off by default).

When enabled, Qlypx may send diagnostic data over HTTPS to a CHROMATRIBE-operated relay (currently hosted on Google Cloud Run). CHROMATRIBE uses that data only to investigate crashes and fix bugs. Operational monitoring may forward a truncated copy of the report to an internal operations channel; those systems are not used for advertising or profiling.

What may be included

App version and bundle identifier
macOS version string
Crash stack traces and error messages
Timestamps

What is never included

Clipboard text, images, or file contents
Snippet bodies or attachments
Sync-folder file contents
Your name, Apple ID, or account credentials (Qlypx has no user account)

You can turn diagnostics off at any time in Settings. Pending crash logs on disk are submitted on a later launch only while the option remains enabled. You can also delete local diagnostic files by clearing app data or removing Qlypx’s Application Support folder.

Permissions

Qlypx may request macOS permissions only to provide features you use:

Accessibility	Paste into the frontmost app, detect password / secure fields, and honor excluded apps
User-selected folders	Export history, choose a sync folder, import or attach snippet files
Notifications	Optional alerts (for example OCR completion), if you allow them

OCR uses on-device Apple Vision. Recognition runs locally; extracted text is stored on your Mac only.

Network Use

Qlypx may use the network only for:

Optional diagnostic reports (opt-in, as described above)
Update checks on direct-distribution builds only (not Mac App Store builds)

Mac App Store updates are delivered by Apple. App Store builds do not phone home for self-update.

Third Parties

Apple provides the operating system, frameworks (including Vision), and—for Mac App Store builds—distribution and payment. Apple’s privacy terms apply to those services.
CHROMATRIBE operates the optional diagnostic relay described above.
Qlypx does not embed third-party advertising or marketing analytics SDKs.

If you point a sync folder at a cloud provider’s folder (iCloud, Dropbox, etc.), that provider’s terms apply to files you place there. Qlypx only writes local files you asked it to mirror.

How to Delete Data

In-app: Clear clipboard history, delete snippets, or reset relevant settings from Qlypx’s UI.
Sync folder: Delete or empty the folder you chose; Qlypx does not keep a separate cloud copy.
Remove the app: Uninstall Qlypx and, if you want all remnants gone, delete its Application Support (and related preferences) folder.

Children’s Privacy

Qlypx is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

App Privacy Labels (App Store)

For Mac App Store listings, CHROMATRIBE intends labels consistent with this policy:

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do. Material changes may also be noted on https://chromatri.be/apps/qlypx/. Continued use of Qlypx after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
